Standard Bank Appoints Sanni Chief Executive for Africa


The biggest lender in Africa Standard Bank Group – a function of its balance sheet size, has appointed Yinka Sanni as its new CEO for Africa Regions and a member of the Group Leadership Council.

In December 1990, Sanni joined the Group's Nigerian subsidiary, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, and boasts of a career in the financial sector, spanning over 30 years of wholesale, retail, and asset management experience.

Sanni will replace Sola David- Borha, who has been the bank's CEO for 31 years, and his appointment is effective from 15 April 2020.

However, Sola David-Borha will remain in the Group until the end of June to ensure a successful leadership transition and handover process.
