Wema Bank Plc. announced the launch of AlatPay, a digital payment solution designed to help small and medium enterprises digitize their operations. AlatPay aims to facilitate transactions and enhance SMEs' ability to perform multiple financial activities.
Executive Director of Retail and Digital Business at Wema Bank, Tunde Mabawonku, highlighted the shift from cash to online transactions, emphasizing that AlatPay advances this trend. He noted that the future of payments is moving towards cardless transactions, allowing customers to execute transactions with just a few taps on their phones.
Mabawonku also stated that AlatPay positions Nigerian merchants and SMEs to easily acquire transactions globally and simplifies the process without exposing financial details.
Head of Payment at Wema Bank, Damola Bolodeoku, also mentioned that AlatPay allows merchants to access its storefront seamlessly and handle transactions in any currency. He explained that AlatPay is designed to simplify business payment processes, offering diverse payment options, efficient settlements, and strong security measures.
In addition to the AlatPay platform, Wema Bank offers SMEs an SME toolkit, loan facilities, training, and exposure.
