Starlink to begin operations in Ghana by End of August

Starlink has announced it would commence operations in Ghana at the end of August 2024

Starlink has disclosed plans to begin operations in Ghana by the end of this month. This development follows the completion of all necessary administrative and licensing procedures with the National Communications Authority of Ghana.

Operating under the name Space X Starlink GH LTD, the service aims to revolutionize internet connectivity in the country, particularly in underserved and rural areas. Leveraging its constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will offer high-speed, low-latency internet access, providing a new and powerful option for connectivity across Ghana.

This initiative is expected to significantly impact the country's digital landscape, enhancing access to digital resources and opportunities in education, healthcare, and commerce.

The introduction of Starlink in Ghana marks a significant milestone in the nation's digital transformation journey, offering a competitive alternative to traditional internet service providers. While the service may come at a premium, with equipment costs ranging from $600 to $2,500 and monthly fees between $120 and $5,000. it promises to deliver unparalleled internet speeds and reliability.
