Flutterwave today announce SafeBoda wallet, which it powers. The SafeBoda Wallet is a feature on the SafeBoda app that makes it easier for users to pay electronically for services rendered. Flutterwave claims that the wallet will improve the experience for both users and riders while paying and accepting payment for rides or deliveries will become more seamless.
If you are just hearing of SafeBoda for the first time, SafeBoda is like an Uber for motorcycles or a Gokada. The long-run survival of the startup will be of interest, especially in the western part of Nigeria, where firms with a similar model are no longer in operation, given the government's regulations. Regulation is one thing to worry about, but it will also be interesting to see how the company deals with the so-called NURTW going forward.
According to SafeBoda, "The Motorcycle or Okada Industry has been an informal industry for a long time. The lack of proper regulations and professionalism gave rise to that." SafeBoda says it plans to restructure this informal industry by providing tested, trusted and safe transportation for everyone.
With SafeBoda Wallet, users don't need to cash to enjoy the services of SafeBoda. Instead, they only need to top up their wallet on the app using their debit or credit cards.
Users can either update their SafeBoda app or download it from Apple App Store and Google Play Store to enjoy this new feature.
