Cellulant, a leading payments technology company that enables global enterprise merchants to connect with billions of consumers in emerging markets, has announced the integration of Telecel Cash as an alternative payment method for Google Play users in Ghana.
The integration of Telcel Cash in Ghana signifies the inaugural collaboration between Google and Cellulant in the region.
This strategic partnership enables Google Play users to conveniently link their Telcel Cash wallets and make purchases using mobile money, a significant step in a market where the use of international credit cards is not widespread.
The move will also enhance the usage of Google Play and downloads in Ghana and promote the penetration of alternative payment methods, such as the mobile money wallet, as the recent development not only empowers thousands of Ghanaians to access a variety of services but also aids in expanding Google Play’s reach within the African market.
Kevin McDaid, who oversees partnerships for Google’s payments platform in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, highlighted that expanding payment options in Ghana and other regions is part of an effort to create a more inclusive purchasing experience for Google Play users.
