Leading African payment platform Flutterwave has announced that the Central Bank of Mozambique has approved its payment aggregator license in principle.
The latest license will allow the payment giant to offer its payment services within Mozambique and boost its operations in markets across southern Africa.
The licence will also enable global enterprises and merchants to expand their businesses to Mozambique, reach their Mozambican customers, and accept payments.
The latest licence approval further illustrates Mozambique’s growing e-payment ecosystem as projections suggest that its total digital transactions value will increase by over 15.28% over the next four years.
Expanding into Mozambique aligns with Flutterwave’s strategic vision of expanding the reach of its infrastructures, attaining multiple licenses, and acquiring a network of global partnerships to ensure running seamless payments across Africa for global enterprises.
Speaking on its latest achievement, Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola said in a statement, “Our goal is to empower local businesses and open doors for global enterprises across all industries by providing them with a secure and convenient payment solution that drives inclusive growth.”
