MTN appoints Ghana head Selorm Adadevoh as group CCO

MTN Group has appointed Selorm Adadevoh as its new CCO to replace Jens Schulte-Bockum.

MTN has announced the appointment of Selorm Adadevoh as the Group's Chief Commercial Officer, which is set to take effect from April 1, 2024. Selorm Adadevoh, with a wealth of experience since joining the company in 2018 as CEO of MTN Ghana, will succeed Jens Schulte-Bockum, the outgoing Group Chief Operations Officer, whose contract ends on March 31, 2024.

Selorm Adadevoh's new designation has been amended to better align with the group operating model, MTN said, adding he will also join the Group Executives on the effective date and assume all of Jens' executive responsibilities. Selorm joined MTN in 2018 as CEO in Ghana, and before that, he held key positions within the Digicel Group, including CEO, COO and Global Director for Mobile Financial Services. Before that, he held various senior positions at Millicom/Tigo in Ghana, including CCO, Head of MFS, and Head of Product Innovation.

"The Company thanks Jens for the vital role he has played in the scaling of our core connectivity business across home, fibre, enterprise and network as a service, in line with Ambition 2025," MTN said.

Having spent seven years at MTN, Schulte-Bockum has played a valuable role and significantly contributed to the group throughout his tenure, MTN said. In recent times, Schulte-Bockum has had additional responsibilities for accelerating the group's digital services platforms, particularly the Ayoba super app and the API marketplace capability Chenosis. He will continue to serve as a non-executive director on MTN South Africa, MTN Nigeria and Bayobab boards.
